“Whatsapp” For Free SMS’

These days everyone like to text each other somehow. When the first mobiles started to spread, people just texted each other to inform each other. But now, texting people is an important social activity, so the GSM operators compete with each other over SMS packages. Probably AVEA’s 5000 sms for free campaign saved AVEA’s fate.

But texting between different operators is still to0 expensive.  For this reason most people used 2 operators at the same time.

With the new spreading internet access over GSM networks, messaging between different operators just have become easier.

Lets consider a text message with 160 characters. From the info that i’ve taken from Whatsapp, we see that;

1 SMS = 160 chars = 12.3 kb = 0.012 mb

Now lets consider monthly price plans for GSM internet.

AVEA : 100mb = 8 TL

TURKCELL :  100mb = 10 TL

VODAFONE : 100mb = 8 TL

So if we choose a 100mb package, when we divide 100 to 0.012 we get 8333.

This means if we only use cellular internet for texting with Whatsapp we become able to text 8333 sms’ to any operator with the price of 10 or 8 TLs.

Now we got the internet package. So how do we obtain  Whatsapp application to our mobile devices?

For iPhones, it’s available for 1$ in Apple Store.

For Android, Symbian (Nokia), Blackberry OS using phones, you can download from Whatsapp Download section.

I’m using this cool application for more than a year and i haven’t met any other application this much useful.

Cos with Whatsapp you can send image, location, text, audio note, contact to anyone who uses Whatsapp.

So as much as you make your friends use Whatsapp, your GSM operator will send less costed bills to your house/mail.

PS: No i haven’t get paid for this advertisement=) These are my very own opinions.
