Ayvalık / Cunda

I’ve got to admit that it has been a remarkable trip. After Rome, this has taken the 2nd place.

We were 8 people with two cars. To be honest, we were 8 colleagues with 3 months of friendship.

We booked a 3-floor villa for 3 nights approximately costed 1300tl.Its location was also perfect with 1kms away from the Devil’s Footprints.

We hit the road at 2am.from Istanbul. In the end, our first morning quest was watching sunrise from the Devil’s Hill. We missed it for approx 20 mins, but even, it was stunning in that time.

Until we were able to find the place, it was 11 am already… We unpacked, then found ourselves in a crowded beach. It could better if we wouldn’t sleep under the bare sun though… One of us found himself roasted partially which was hilarious:)

Next day we sailed with a tour ship. Nothing remarkable though. We fed the seagulls then went back home with a lot of underwater videos/photos.

While we were at the trip we have taken a name from captain for one night raki-fish. For the next night, we rented the boat for just ourselves and coated almost nothing. 600 bucks for the rental only. We took the anchor at 4pm, dropped it back 1am.

Next day was the last day, so we made the breakfast at Ayvalik central. In a cosy place (Ayvalık has a lot of them though) we were even able to eat Pişi. Then we pushed ourselves to Cunda Island to grab some coffee and hang around. Our plan was to hit the road again around 4pm latest for Istanbul. And we did.

After we started our wayback, one of my companions came up with interesting idea… “Why don’t we make our way through Canakkale?”

The only difference between the regular way and Canakkale was 100km’s.

As of my car, we chose the longer road so spontaneously. Others did not wanted to join, so we remained as 4 carmates.

Took the ferry for Eceabat, taken some photos at Statue of Martyrs, then hit the road again for Istanbul.

In the end I drove the car for nearly 9 hours, reached home at 2am with the whole feeling of pleasure.

In total, whole trip costed 450TLs per person. Which could easily be double if we were somewhere else.Triple if we were in Cesme or Bodrum.

I also want to leave a remark for the application Tricount. Which is a great mobile application for group expense logging. If you are going somewhere as a group I suggest you to install the magnificent app.
